We work with Muddy Boots Forest Adventures to provide a unique Forest School catering for tots, home educated families and SEN children. It is run by a qualified Montessori teacher and forest school leader with over 15 years experience working in early years. Every session is 100% child led allowing children to choose their own learning path, explore the surroundings and just be at one with nature without any pressure.
At Muddy Boots, our sessions all follow the forest school ethos and allow children to just be children. My role is to facilitate learning; each session is entirely child led and your child may wish to do all or some of the things on offer and sometimes nothing at all.
They are suitable for all children walking to 4years and they must bring a grown up with them!
The sessions run every fortnight and at each sessions we have the following;
- Mud Kitchen
- Climbing slack lines
- Diggers and Trucks
- Bug Hunting
- Teddy bear den building
It’s a relaxed friendly fun session and is pay as you go so your not tied into a terms worth of sessions.
Come along with friends and catch up while the children play or meet new ones.
Home Ed Monthly Group
Muddy Boots Forest Adventures offers a monthly forest school session specifically for families of children walking upto around 10 years who are home educating their children or those thinking about home education. They follow the same ethos of all our other sessions but are a great way to make new friends with other likeminded families. They are completely child led with no structure although we do have adult directed activities for those who wish to take part.
SEN Forest School
These sessions run monthly. They are for children walking upwards and are a much smaller group size compared to other sessions. They have a more therapeutic element to them and have activities around the woodland to develop speech and language, gross and fine motor movement, lots of opportunity to make choices and lots of space to be alone or be with others. They are 100% child led and unstructured. These sessions will not have a campfire or story but sometimes we will use group social stories or yoga to end our session.
